What to make next?

So I am at the heel turn in mistake rib sock #2, and I need to start thinking about the next pair of socks. I have a couple of skeins of Koigu KPPPM in I believe the P113 colourway. (I was going to bring the yarn today to photo but I didn't so you will have to make due with ones I have taken from other places). There is a lot of different sock patterns out there that I would like to make. So I have decided to ask you what I should make next. The choices are
Embossed Leaves Socks from Interweave Knits Winter 2005
Pomatomus from Knitty Winter 2005
River Rapid Socks from Sock Bug pattern as a pdf in the side bar,
Denmark from Knitting on the Road by Nancy Bush. I don't currently have this book....

I have Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch however, it is currently not in my possession (that living in two countries thing), I know there is some patterns that I want to make in there so please feel free to suggest something from there.

Since it is KPPPM I don't want to complicated of a pattern that won't be noticed with the colours of the yarn.

Does anyone else have suggestions for a pattern they have enjoyed and would look good in a blue KPPPM?

I'll now distract the lack of knitting progress photos with this picture of a tulip amongst the Solomon's Seal. Finding lots of great stuff coming up in the garden.

I think for the highly variegated colors of your KPPPM, the best choice is Pomatomas. Just my .02!

Hi from Austria! I agree with liz k., the Pomatomas socks would sure look best with that beautiful yarn of yours - though it was a tough choice, all the pattern are great! I'm quite curious already to see what you'll decide for!

I know NOTHING of color and sock patterns (having only knit my first pair of fuzzy feet (an introduction to sock knitting with few ramifications if I mess them up since they get felted!) this year, and I say "Pomatomas"

Personally, I like the Denmark socks, but I'm all about cables, texture and the purchasing of new books. I see that I am currently outvoted, but I will rig the election.

Jenni - does it change your vote if I say I am probably going to buy the book anyway. It has "Canada" socks in it -how can I refuse.

Note the order of my comment: texture, cables, then book. So the purchasing of the book is more of a whim, an afterthought, a spur of the moment thing. I am not persuaded to change my opinion.

However, I am rethinking whether the varigation will look good in cables. Probably not. A clear case where I let my love for cables override my caution about varigation.

So I will recast my vote: I still vote for Denmark, but I offer a write-in on the yarn. Perhaps a solid colo(u)r-way.

Just running with the colours and names I think its kind of poetic if you use the KPPPM yarn in a sock pattern to do with water, like pomatomus or river rocks. I'm not sure how this type of yarn knits up, but I agree that major patterning and major verigation add up to major eyestrain.

Then use some Danish yarn to knit the Denmark socks after :)

Actually, I change my mind again. I hereby withdraw my previous two votes, and recast my vote for another write-in candidate, pictured here:

Maybe not with the sock yarn. Maybe with some other yarn.....
